Carrot Cake....It is simply the best.

This is the recipe that started it all.    A few years ago I made this carrot cake for G.G.'s  birthday.    After that, he requested it for fathers day.  Did I mention that fathers day generally falls about a week after his birthday?   Have I mentioned that he hates cake?  This one really is the best cake ever.  I promise.  Your family will sing songs and write poems about you and this carrot cake after only one bite.  Who wouldn't want that to happen?  This cake  completes the Easter table.  It is a best seller for all your bake sales or cake walks.    It is the one that just makes the world a better place and cures world hunger.   Everyone wins!  Get the picture?  UNDERSTAND????   MAKE THIS CAKE!

ps.  My oldest girl, C.G. finds nuts offensive in food.   So no nuts were harmed in the baking of this cake.

pps...  Friends,  if you ever want the jpg version of my recipe cards.....just leave a comment.

Walmart & their new policy for getting the best price.....

This is a copy of my friend, K.B. and her email from last week.......  I just wanted to share with those of you who shop at WallyWorld.

SOOOOO EXCITED to share something with all of you this week!

WalMart has recently came out with a new program called Savings Catcher. You may have seen their advertising- it is pretty much everywhere. Right now, Dallas is one of Savings Catcher’s beta markets.

Basically, it works like this:
1.      After you shop, enter your receipt number and date at savingscatcher.com. You will need a WalMart account. You have a week to do this.
2.     WM has 72 hours to check the advertised prices for each item on your receipt with advertised prices in our area.
3.     From there, they will send you an email listing the dollar difference between anything you did not receive the lowest price on. The receipt will be broken into 3 sections:
BLUE- lists the items YOU price matched at the register or that WM has advertised
GREEN- lists the items WM found that you didn’t catch
WHITE- lists the items that do not qualify under the terms of Savings Catcher. This would include fruits, vegies, general merchandise, etc. You can find a complete list under the FAQ tab
4.     At that point, this credit amount is stored on their website and accumulated. Whenever you are ready, you can go in and “cash out” for eGift card to be used online or at the register.

This week I was determined to try the system out. After shopping on Friday, I came home and entered the receipt number into Savings Catcher. By Monday, I received an email stating that I have my first credit of $5.95 applied to my account! This was after I already saved $30.66 at the register. FREE MONEY- who can possibly turn down FREE?!?!

Well, while I know eventually this thing may put me out of an email- for now, I am going to relish in an additional savings opportunity and am thankful to be able to pass the information along to YOU! Don’t pass this up ladies- this is a slam dunk.

Please share with me how it is working for you as I would love to hear some feedback. I would also love it if you could send me a quick email to LMK how much you saved!

Blessings all, Kathy

Rom 8:38-39: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

You do not have to have the ads with you to price match… if they ask you for them, show them a copy of their own policy. You can print it from here:http://corporate.walmart.com/ad-match-guarantee

People Watching at the Mall…..

It all started the day I parked my car and found this strange soul sitting on the ground near Nordstroms.  I can't be sure what she was exactly doing.   It was odd how she was looking at her leg and occasionally leaning against that car.  She must have been braiding that hair on her leg.  Trust me, I locked the van and ran into the mall.

The mall offers many opportunities for people watching.  I have decided that there are many who just haven't evolved into the human race.  Note the above picture.

Later that day……  I was hoping to try on clothing in one of my favorite department stores.  This is what I found in the dressing room.  Seriously? It left me speechless.

While I was no means upset with the staff.  They were having a difficult time policing the place to keep it tidy and up to standard neatness on the floor.  It really isn't their fault that most shoppers are slobs and don't care about all the extra work they cause the world around them.

It led me to wonder….what kind of person would do this?  Honestly, the people working are not hired to be personal maids/slaves.  They are hired to help you find a good outfit and put it together.  Their job includes putting things in order and returning the  items back to the correct location on the floor.

Please do the rest of us shoppers a favor and put your things on the "go-back" rack.  It would also be nice to not tie your shirts in knots and  leave them inside-out.   It kinda destroys the integrity and newness of the clothing when it is left to wrinkle and get all yucky on the floor.  Who really wants to buy that now?  NOT ME.

This is just funny!

So I am not sure what appeals to me here the most.   I just needed another giggle.
